A tidy house.

I really made it out to be tidier than
it actually is, didn't I? The ugly furniture
doesn't help...
If you're reading this and live in a student dwelling of some sort, you'll know how much effort it takes to tidy up after yourself. Who wants to spend an hour or so washing up a stack of plates, pans and cutlery which have been hanging around for over a week? Who really cares that the carpet hasn't been hoovered since you've moved in? And what's the big deal about mould covering plates you haven't touched in weeks (after all, you can just throw them away and buy another!)?

When it comes to tidying up, I'm not a good example to use. I'm one of these people who needs to plan everything, and I kind of forget to involve it in my plans at times. And if you recall my blog post a few days ago, my housemates and I threw a Halloween party on Sunday...and the mess of it all was still there this morning, four days later.

But after getting a bit fed up with the bin overflowing and the washing up taking up every inch of the sideboards, the housemates (Belle, Sam and I that is), decided to crack on with tidying up. There were literally three bin bags full of all the crap we had lying around, and loads of dining equipment to tidy up...but I'm happy to say, we got it all done.

I admit, the house isn't at all spotless, but seeing it tidy is a good sign. But this time tomorrow, will it still be tidy? Fat chance.
