Who in the world can say they detest the likes of Tekken and Spyro the Dragon?

It’s actually a rhetorical question, because (in my mind at least), no-one can. When I was younger, Tekken and Spyro used to be all I played on my super-cool Playstation 1. I used to be the stereotypical kid of the 90’s- glued to my PS1 playing cartoon-adventure game after Japanese fighting game. I literally couldn’t get enough- how times have changed!
But tonight, I happened to relive my childhood. My friend, Phil, had been saying for the past few weeks how he wanted to ‘come over to my house and play some Spyro’ (as you do....). Being as though we have a PS2 and a copy of Spyro in the house, I really couldn’t object.
And playing this game really brought back the memories. Yes, it’s a cutesy game, yes, the graphics are crap and yes, none of the game really makes any sense, but still...it’s fun!
And playing this made me realise that the video games of yesterday are pretty much dead. Instead of side-scrolling platformers and senseless fighting games, we now have intensely detailed games with superb graphics. Which I like- it’s just nice to break the tradition every now and again and kick some Heihachi ass on Tekken Tag Tournament!

i love spyro i miss it.
